Benefits of Photo Walks

Photo walks were one of the first things that appealed to me. The idea of being with others that shared my passion, looking thru their lenses (when I could see their photos after), and learning by watching and having hands on experience with those that had different backgrounds and brought new ideas to the table was exciting! This still is one of the best parts for me.

The second benefit is getting to know other members. Meetings are great, but it is on the walks that you get to chat and learn about what brought them to photography, what equipment, and just personal aspects that make other functions more enjoyable. Each of the members brings something that nobody else has. It is a pleasure getting to know each of them.

The frustrating part is trying to come up with ideas, and planning so that those that want to participate... can. To set-up a walk is not that difficult, but as the saying goes, "Many hands make light work", it would be GREAT to see individual members offering walk ideas and even leading. According to our resent survey (beginning of 2019) of the 24 of 40 that participated 70.8% felt walks were a 4 or 5 out of 5 and 95.8% felt it was 3, 4, or 5 of 5 in importance.
